To start, can you say a few words about you and your professional background?
Sandrine Tessier : Actually, my grandfather was a jeweler … but it was not my aim to follow his steps at the start, I wanted to work in genetics and create new orchids!! I have always loved jewelries … and played with my grand dad’s stones, there were like treasures for me!!!

After my studies, I joined a jewelry school …it was thanks to my dad who was not in that business that I joined this school…we are all like rebels!
How did you end up in integrating the high jewelry field?
It was obvious for me, a magical mix between what I have done, drawn, and what I love the most.
What makes Sandrine Tessier different from the other jewelry maker?
My aim is to offer tailor made creations and not having stocks of jewelries and change the stones or the metal’s colours…
Do you have inspirations or models? Where do you get your ideas?
I am a rebel I have to say and I can’t draw my aspiration from already made jewelries. We belong to the same house and it is already hard to differentiate oneself from the other, so I prefer to stay in my world! I love nature and Modern Style, I believe that my ideas come from everything I see and keep into me and come at the right moment for the jewel…
So you are making tailor made jewels. How do you feel your customer’s wishes and create the right jewel?
We all have talents and I have the one to determine easily the personality of people I meet. There is a real chat between my client and me, and I am good at finding the right words…the right jewel according my client’s wish.
Sandrine Tessier, could you tell us about the birth of a jewel please ?
There are meetings, discussions, rough sketches and I make some proposals to my client, then we have a more defined project. Once, the drawing is confirmed begins the creation of the jewels.
Are they any of your creations that you are very proud of or any that you are very disappointed by?
Each piece is different, each jewel is different from the others because my clients are different, they have they own wishes and would like jewelries for different type of events. We can always improve ourselves or make it different, especially when we have ideas going on in our head, we can stay on the same project, working again and again on it, we always have new ideas!!
I really love my new collection (limited edition) called « Ange ou Démon », for instance, these little angels and little devils made thanks to a specific traditional technique of Blanc Limoges are all unique like everyone of us (unique is my main theme) and they remind the love we have to our loved ones.
You also create wedding and engagement rings. Is it the same process of creating other more “traditional” jewels?
