Book in advance your wedding venue in France

My first advice, as a French wedding planner, is to book in advance your wedding venue in France. As a matter of fact, we’re currently receiving some demands for weddings on Summer 2012. I have to tell to most of the bridal couples that 90% of the wedding venues are already booked. Indeed, it’s said in France, that you have to book your wedding venue at least 1 year in advance. Usually the French wedding couples begin to search for the perfect venue 18 months before the wedding day.

So consequently, you’re just on time to organise your wedding in France for May 2013 ! Believe your French wedding planner. I visited last week two beautiful venues, which are fully booked for 2012 and June 2013 is already booked for one venue. The French people love weddings but we also have many foreigners who wish to get married in France. Thus, as there are only 4 Saturday in a month, that’s sometimes complicated to find the right venue for a wedding in France. Book a wedding venue in France can become a nightmare if you’re not in advance.

But if you’re really want to get married in France, just contact your French wedding planner. He or She can have some informations about cancellations or available dates. If you plan to get married in France next year and you wish to find a very good wedding coodinator in France, please ask us ! Some of our clients ask Events & Home to organise their whole wedding because they live abroad and don’t know very well how to begin with. On the contrary, I know that many bridal couples prefer to organise their own wedding from the very beginning to the end but when the wedding day is coming, they feel that a wedding coordinator in France can be a good idea !

As a matter of fact, choosing a wedding coordinator in France is a good way to enjoy and to relax during your wedding. I am going to explain to you what we offer as a wedding coordinator in France. Usually, the bridal couples come once or twice in France to prepare the wedding, to visit the venues, to meet the suppliers, to taste the food and define the flower decoration for instance. During one of this trip or maybe more often, they can meet their wedding coordinator. Legal wedding in France

We’re lucky because, thanks to this blog, we receive everyday requests from bridal couples who want to get married in France. Some of them wish to have a legal wedding in France and unfortunately, I have to tell you that it’s quite impossible ! Indeed, if you want to do a legal wedding in France, you have to prove your French residency. That means you have to show a French adress with some bills (phone or lease) to confirm that you live in France.

So if you want to be legally married in France, you have to rent a flat for several months in France or to find a friend that can say you live in his or her house in France. Sometimes, some wedding venues (if they have accomodations) can say that you live in their house (but it really depends on cities). You’ll have to show some invoices or bills with the French address to the ciy hall. A phone bill is good. Besides, you have to know that legal wedding in France has to be done in the city hall itself. It can’t be done outside.

Usually my clients prefer to get legally married in France and organise a religious or symbolic ceremony with their friends and family in France. Continue reading →
