Champagne Story

Each article we put on line is written to present you something we particularly like.
That’s why today we would like to talk about the Champagne by Mentque.
It’s true that everybody appreciates this beverage very much because it could be drunk for any kind of events: Private events (anniversary, wedding, private cocktail…) and professional events as well (seminar, exhibitions…).
We can’t deny the fact that each wine is made of different grape varieties. Even though the Pinot is generally not the favorite grape variety for the wine making, here it is used to bring a fruity taste to the wine which is said to be too sour generally speaking.

As a consequence, the Mentque vintage is made of:
Hyssopus vintage: 75% of Pinot Meunier, 20% of Chardonnay, 5% of Pinot Noir
Louis XVI vintage: 1/3 of Pinot Meunier, 1/3 of Chardonnay, 1/3 of Pinot Noir
Rose vintage: 40% of Pinot Meunier, 30% of Chardonnay, 20% of Pinot Noir
Prestige vintage: 60% of Pinot Meunier, 30% of Chardonnay, 10% of Pinot Noir
Tradition vintage: 70% of Pinot Meunier, 30% of Pinot Noir

If you want further information about the prices, we can provide an order form without any commission!!
We recommend you this champagne, passionately studied and appreciated with love.

Sandrine Tessier speaks to you…

To start, can you say a few words about you and your professional background?

Sandrine Tessier : Actually, my grandfather was a jeweler … but it was not my aim to follow his steps at the start, I wanted to work in genetics and create new orchids!! I have always loved jewelries … and played with my grand dad’s stones, there were like treasures for me!!!

After my studies, I joined a jewelry school …it was thanks to my dad who was not in that business that I joined this school…we are all like rebels!

How did you end up in integrating the high jewelry field?

It was obvious for me, a magical mix between what I have done, drawn, and what I love the most.

What makes Sandrine Tessier different from the other jewelry maker?

My aim is to offer tailor made creations and not having stocks of jewelries and change the stones or the metal’s colours…

Do you have inspirations or models? Where do you get your ideas?

I am a rebel I have to say and I can’t draw my aspiration from already made jewelries. We belong to the same house and it is already hard to differentiate oneself from the other, so I prefer to stay in my world! I love nature and Modern Style, I believe that my ideas come from everything I see and keep into me and come at the right moment for the jewel…

So you are making tailor made jewels. How do you feel your customer’s wishes and create the right jewel?

We all have talents and I have the one to determine easily the personality of people I meet. There is a real chat between my client and me, and I am good at finding the right words…the right jewel according my client’s wish.

Sandrine Tessier, could you tell us about the birth of a jewel please ?

There are meetings, discussions, rough sketches and I make some proposals to my client, then we have a more defined project. Once, the drawing is confirmed begins the creation of the jewels.

Are they any of your creations that you are very proud of or any that you are very disappointed by?

Each piece is different, each jewel is different from the others because my clients are different, they have they own wishes and would like jewelries for different type of events. We can always improve ourselves or make it different, especially when we have ideas going on in our head, we can stay on the same project, working again and again on it, we always have new ideas!!
I really love my new collection (limited edition) called « Ange ou Démon », for instance, these little angels and little devils made thanks to a specific traditional technique of Blanc Limoges are all unique like everyone of us (unique is my main theme) and they remind the love we have to our loved ones.

You also create wedding and engagement rings. Is it the same process of creating other more “traditional” jewels?

A cute wedding cortege

enfant_81.jpg

There is a charming tradition in French weddings where a little number of children takes part of the cortege, for a cute wedding cortege. Usually, a children cortege includes two maids of honour or best men, who enter just before the bride and her father. These two children carry bunch of flowers, or act like wedding ring bearers. The rest of the cortege enters after the bride to help her with the train of her wedding dress, or walk behind her. And the entire cute wedding cortege exits before the newlyweds to throw rose petals or paper hearts when the couple passes the door.

You should not exceed eight kids in your cortege: otherwise your wedding could look like a school playground! For a matter of harmony, try to respect the equity between boys and girls, and above all, to have an even number of children. And if you want to keep the control on your cute wedding cortege, choose preferably children over five.
Of course, your children have to be coordinated with the cortege look. Usually, the boys wear linen tailored shorts and shirts, and girls mild-calf linen dresses, with accessories matching the bride’s colour theme (a big bow around the waste, or in the hair, a little hat…) , but those basic outfits can be declined according to your urge or to the wedding style.

It’s time to plan your wedding !

Once you have decided to get married, you and your boyfriend begin to suffer from stress and strain. Don’t panic ! The most important is to plan your wedding in advance. Weddings on the French Riviera will give you some tips for your wedding schedule.

If you prefer to plan your wedding on your own instead of hiring a wedding planner, you have to take into account this wedding schedule.

Between 12 and 18 months before your wedding, you should :

- choose a date for the wedding day

- find a suitable venue

- know the wedding budget

These points are fundamental to plan your wedding. More over, if you plan to get married on the French Riviera, you must book the venues 18 months in advance. Some venues are really well known ! On the reverse, you may ask a local French wedding planner to find you a wedding venue on the French Riviera that is less known worldwide but very lovely.

Between 6 and 11 months before the wedding day, you will have a lot of work to do ! Indeed, you must :

- book the City Hall

- find the wedding dress

- speak about the wedding contract if it’s necessary

- select the main providers : catering, flowers, hairdresser, transport …

Between 3 and 5 months before the wedding day, it’s necessary to : Continue reading

Are green weddings a new trend in France ?

If you are eco-friendly, you should want to make a green wedding. Anyway, if you plan to get married in France and especially to get married on the French Riviera, that could be uneasy. Indeed green weddings are well known in the USA or in Canada, but in Europe and more over in France, green weddings are really new.

So, you may need help from a wedding planner on the French Riviera in order to find the best providers for every item. To begin with, you should find a green wedding dress. Few companies in France create green wedding dress. Wedding dresses are made with natural fibres like cotton, bamboo, hemp or silk. Vegetable colors must be used for the wedding dresses. If you are interested in, you can have a look to Aranel. Prices begin at € 1,000.

The hardest point is to find a green caterer with organic products. Few caterers are ready to change all their menu to do only organic food. That’s a pity ! On the French Riviera, you should have to pay an extra to find a green caterer.

The best idea in order to celebrate a green wedding on the French Riviera is to find a wonderful place with a organic restaurant inside. Currently some hotels and restaurants are becoming more and more green. In Nice, I recommend Hi Hotel which is totally new. This hotel on the French Riviera is extremely well situated in Nice. Design and organic food are mixed. It’s really stunning.

My wedding planner advices (2/2)

Here are some wedding planner advices for my dear readers. As I wrote in my other post about wedding planner advices, I’ll give you some tips to plan your wedding. It’s not only about weddings on the French Riviera !

Once you have found the venue for the wedding, I recommend you to ask for opening and closing times. Some wonderful venues on the French Riviera accept weddings but they don’t want music after midnight. Sometimes, you’ll need to book the entire hotel for 3 nights. On the French Riviera, Le Mas de Pierre or Château Saint Martin do so ! Obviously it would have a huge impact on your wedding budget.

My second tip among my wedding planner advices is to take into account your desire about your wedding. Do you prefer a casual wedding ? Do you want to be closed to the sea if you plan to get married on the French Riviera for instance ? Do you want fireworks ? Do you wish ceremony and celebration in one place ? You should ask the venue for the wedding if they allow everything or what the limitations are.

The third point of my wedding planner advices deals with the wedding ceremony. Do not assume that you can get married where and when you want. There are some laws to abide by especially if it’s a religious wedding ceremony. You have to call the clergyman asap. Continue reading
