Are green weddings a new trend in France ?

If you are eco-friendly, you should want to make a green wedding. Anyway, if you plan to get married in France and especially to get married on the French Riviera, that could be uneasy. Indeed green weddings are well known in the USA or in Canada, but in Europe and more over in France, green weddings are really new.

So, you may need help from a wedding planner on the French Riviera in order to find the best providers for every item. To begin with, you should find a green wedding dress. Few companies in France create green wedding dress. Wedding dresses are made with natural fibres like cotton, bamboo, hemp or silk. Vegetable colors must be used for the wedding dresses. If you are interested in, you can have a look to Aranel. Prices begin at € 1,000.

The hardest point is to find a green caterer with organic products. Few caterers are ready to change all their menu to do only organic food. That’s a pity ! On the French Riviera, you should have to pay an extra to find a green caterer.

The best idea in order to celebrate a green wedding on the French Riviera is to find a wonderful place with a organic restaurant inside. Currently some hotels and restaurants are becoming more and more green. In Nice, I recommend Hi Hotel which is totally new. This hotel on the French Riviera is extremely well situated in Nice. Design and organic food are mixed. It’s really stunning.

My wedding planner advices (2/2)

Here are some wedding planner advices for my dear readers. As I wrote in my other post about wedding planner advices, I’ll give you some tips to plan your wedding. It’s not only about weddings on the French Riviera !

Once you have found the venue for the wedding, I recommend you to ask for opening and closing times. Some wonderful venues on the French Riviera accept weddings but they don’t want music after midnight. Sometimes, you’ll need to book the entire hotel for 3 nights. On the French Riviera, Le Mas de Pierre or Château Saint Martin do so ! Obviously it would have a huge impact on your wedding budget.

My second tip among my wedding planner advices is to take into account your desire about your wedding. Do you prefer a casual wedding ? Do you want to be closed to the sea if you plan to get married on the French Riviera for instance ? Do you want fireworks ? Do you wish ceremony and celebration in one place ? You should ask the venue for the wedding if they allow everything or what the limitations are.

The third point of my wedding planner advices deals with the wedding ceremony. Do not assume that you can get married where and when you want. There are some laws to abide by especially if it’s a religious wedding ceremony. You have to call the clergyman asap. Continue reading ‘My wedding planner advices (2/2)’

My wedding planner advices (1/2)

Summer is dedicated to weddings on the French Riviera. That’s a big time for me but I would like to give some advices to my readers. My wedding planner advices are for any kind of weddings, anywhere, not only weddings on the French Riviera.

My wedding planner advices deal with the wedding’s budget. Indeed, if you plan to get married soon, you obviously want to receive value for money for your wedding . Whatever your wedding’s budget is, it’s necessary to think about your wedding with your head instead of your heart ! There is no doubt that all the providers hired for your wedding are businessmen or businesswomen. Don’t hesitate to research, compare and negotiate.

The first tip of my wedding planner advices is to begin with the guest list.

The guest list will tell you the main stripes of your wedding’s budget. Be aware that feeding your guests is the largest part of your wedding’s budget. You must begin with a detailed guest list. Regarding weddings on the French Riviera, you should take into account that some guests are not going to come beacause French Riviera can be far from where they live. Anyway, I recommend to take into account the maximum number of guests in order to calculate your wedding’s budget. As a matter of fact, if your guest are less numerous at last, you’ll save some money on your wedding’s budget or you could have more money for the wedding decoration.

My second tip among my wedding planner advices is about the venue. The venue for your wedding matters a lot. First the venue for your wedding will give the mood of your wedding. Continue reading ‘My wedding planner advices (1/2)’

Get married in a castle on the French Riviera ?

If you wish to celebrate your wedding in a castle on the French Riviera, here are some venues you may like. First of all, you must know that castles on the French Riviera are different from typical French castles. Indeed, there are few castles from Renaissance or Midle Ages periods on the French Riviera. When we speak about castles on the French Riviera, we much more often deal with huge and famous properties. Anyway, if you are looking for a very historical castle on the French Riviera, I suggest you to have a look at “Château de la Napoule“.

Château de la Napoule is closed to Cannes and above all it is situated at the water’s edge. This castle on the French Riviera is also a museum during the day. The gardens are beautiful and if you’re keen on old stones, you’ll enjoy the historical power of Château de la Napoule.  You can welcome from 250 guests (inside) to 600 people (outside)

Another very famous castle on the French Riviera is the castle in Tarascon. It also a museum but by night you can make it private to celebrate your wedding on the French Riviera. This castle is closer to Marseille. The spell of this castle on the French Riviera is inimitable ! Tarascon’s castle is dedicated to weddings with around 100 -120 guests.

If you’re fashion addicted, I know a perfect castle to celebrate your wedding on the French Riviera. “Château de la Colle Noire” is 60 kms far from Cannes and its famous owner was no one else than Christian Dior ! This castle on the French Riviera is perfect for weddings with 100 guests. There are few bedrooms for the family. There is something magic to get married where Christian Dior lived !

Personnaly, I prefer “Château de la Chèvre d’Or” between Nice and Monaco in Eze. This castle on the French Riviera is totally amazing with a stunning seaview. Château de la Chèvre d’Or is the perfect place to celebrate a wedding on the French Riviera thanks to its many bedrooms, several restaurants, swimming pool and wonderful gardens. The people of Château de la Chèvre d’Or are also very friendly and at your disposal !

Eventually, I would suggest Château Saint Martin in Vence which is 20 kms from Nice or Cannes.   Continue reading ‘Get married in a castle on the French Riviera ?’

A transparent marquee for an unforgettable wedding

For some different reasons, it’s sometimes better to set up a marquee for a wedding party : if you wish to celebrate your wedding on a specific place like a beach, a castle or a family’s property which are too small to welcome 200 or 300 guests. Tents look like the best solution.

As far as I’m concerned, I have a fondness for transparent marquee. Indeed, transparent marquee, when it is premium, creates a magical and timeless atmosphere. The transparent marquee is made of plastic. The plastic is manually heated to be tight as much as possible. The roof and the walls of the transparent marquee look like perfect windows. Some providers call these tents, “crystal tents” to focus on the transparency. You feel like celebrating your wedding party inside a sun lounge.

Anyway, the best time to use a transparent marquee is when you celebrate your wedding by night, above all if it takes place on the French Riviera !

Anyway, having a transparent marquee for a wedding party represents an important cost if you want to have it perfect. Continue reading ‘A transparent marquee for an unforgettable wedding’

Famous weddings on the French Riviera

Every year, French Riviera welcome famous events and above all famous weddings.  Some are totally romantic, others are fully crazy depending on the venue and obviously of the bride and the groom. For instance, we could compare Pamela Anderson’s wedding in Saint Tropez with Jean Reno’s wedding at “Les Baux de Provence”. The first one was celebrated on a yacht and on a beach. The second one took place on a historical place at the heart of French Provence.

As a matter of fact, French Riviera attracts stars thanks to its variety of landscapes and venues to make a French wedding party. For those who want a snazzy wedding, venues are numerous, especially in Saint Tropez or in Cannes. But if you’re looking for secrecy, French Riviera offer many venues and the wedding professionals are used to work discreetly. Wayne Rooney ‘ll marry Coleen Mc Loughlin on the French Riviera. The wedding event will last 4 days and will cost € 4,000,000.  It is also said that Vanessa Paradis and Johnny Depp would organise a French wedding party closed to Saint Tropez, where they own a property.

Your wedding on a French Riviera beach

French Riviera is an ideal place to do a wedding party on a beach !

But be careful with the cities you select to plan your wedding party on the French Riviera. Indeed some cities have beaches but no sand. From Nice to Antibes, beaches are made with pebbles. It’s not that easy to walk on such beaches especially if you were a wedding dress. Secondly, if you are looking for an isolated beach for your wedding party on the French Riviera, forget about Cannes, Monaco  and Juan les Pins. As a matter of fact, beaches are located along the main road. You would suffer from traffic and also for tourists who are walking along the road.

Var is definitely the best place to plan your wedding party on the French Riviera. Beaches are wider with much more beautiful sand. Road is not that closer to the beach and there are less tourists along the road. Var is an admistrative region in the French Riviera which begins at Frejus and finishes at Bandol more or less.  The most famous city is obviously Saint Tropez. Many beaches are really perfect to plan your wedding party on the French Riviera. Interior and exterior decoration are often very well customised and above all totally trendy. Your wedding in a French designer house

If you feel living a unique wedding party, French Riviera is the perfect place to make your dreams come true. Indeed, French Riviera is full of magnificent venues where to plan an amazing wedding event. French Riviera has been attracting many artists and designers for so long! Some of them bought properties on the French Riviera. Luckily, some of these prestigious properties can be rented to celebrate a wedding party.

So, if you fancy fashion, I suggest two fabulous venues. The first one is the most stupendous property on the French Riviera. The owner is Mr Pierre Cardin, famous French fashion designer. There is no other house on earth like the one he has on the French Riviera. The name of the property is Palais Bulle. The idea is to be in a bubble everywhere in the house. Indeed, there is no corner, no angles …the whole is round in a very 1960’s spirit and attitude. Extremely well situated on the French Riviera, with an unforgettable sea view, the property has a specific area to host events. The place is dedicated to hedonism.

The second venue I recommend for a wedding event on the French Riviera is definitely different from the previous one. The property is one of the most elegant ones on the French Riviera. Continue reading ‘Your wedding in a French designer house’

2008 wedding trends : sample stations

Let’s be honest : sometimes it happens that guests are getting bored at a wedding party. Weddings are often the same with no suprise! Customised wedding decoration makes your wedding different obviously. Anyway, it’s not enough! One new trend in weddings is to set up many sample stations rather than one never ending dinner.

Every station has to be thematic. I suggest to link the keynote to the bride and the groom. For instance, if you get married on the French Riviera, a wine and a cheese station is a must have. Why don’t you hire a sommelier to provide some explanations to your guests ?

As humans, we’re getting bored quickly. So create an event in the event istself. You should set up some fleetingly stations. Based on the happy hour concept, you should do a « mojito time » during 30 min, following by a « champagne time ».

How to do a green wedding?

When you celebrate a wedding on the French Riviera, you’re closed to nature thanks to the varierty of amazing landscapes in this area. So why don’t you celebrate a wedding on the French Riviera with a green commitment ?

Making an earthfriendly wedding party is not a big deal! Here are some ideas to celebrate a green wedding. First, why don’t you use a recycled paper to make your wedding announcements ?  On the whole, we waste so much paper that there is no need to add more with your wedding reception. The best way to be eco-friendly is to send your wedding announcements by email. You shall create a website with all the details about your wedding party (hotels, celebration, transport…)   Continue reading ‘How to do a green wedding?’
