A disco wedding

As often, Madonna starts and others follow. There is no doubt that nowadays, disco is the big new trend in events. This revival is a big opportunity to celebrate a stunning event. So why don’t you do the same with your wedding party ?  Indeed, disco is well known by everybody and brings together several age groups. If you’re looking for a quaint wedding,  a disco wedding is bound to be your best idea to enjoy all of your guests.

So, how are you going to organise this disco wedding ? First of all, you may choose specific wedding announcements with orange, green, fuschia colors.  Some brown and yellow stripes can also be used. The colors have to be bright. Forget about pastel colors for your disco wedding.

Secondly, you can add some accessories to make your clothes a little bit more disco. You don’t need to wear spangles everywhere but the groom can choose a 70’s shirt !  Continue reading ‘A disco wedding’

A transparent marquee for an unforgettable wedding

For some different reasons, it’s sometimes better to set up a marquee for a wedding party : if you wish to celebrate your wedding on a specific place like a beach, a castle or a family’s property which are too small to welcome 200 or 300 guests. Tents look like the best solution.

As far as I’m concerned, I have a fondness for transparent marquee. Indeed, transparent marquee, when it is premium, creates a magical and timeless atmosphere. The transparent marquee is made of plastic. The plastic is manually heated to be tight as much as possible. The roof and the walls of the transparent marquee look like perfect windows. Some providers call these tents, “crystal tents” to focus on the transparency. You feel like celebrating your wedding party inside a sun lounge.

Anyway, the best time to use a transparent marquee is when you celebrate your wedding by night, above all if it takes place on the French Riviera !

Anyway, having a transparent marquee for a wedding party represents an important cost if you want to have it perfect. Continue reading ‘A transparent marquee for an unforgettable wedding’

Your wedding on a French Riviera beach

French Riviera is an ideal place to do a wedding party on a beach !

But be careful with the cities you select to plan your wedding party on the French Riviera. Indeed some cities have beaches but no sand. From Nice to Antibes, beaches are made with pebbles. It’s not that easy to walk on such beaches especially if you were a wedding dress. Secondly, if you are looking for an isolated beach for your wedding party on the French Riviera, forget about Cannes, Monaco  and Juan les Pins. As a matter of fact, beaches are located along the main road. You would suffer from traffic and also for tourists who are walking along the road.

Var is definitely the best place to plan your wedding party on the French Riviera. Beaches are wider with much more beautiful sand. Road is not that closer to the beach and there are less tourists along the road. Var is an admistrative region in the French Riviera which begins at Frejus and finishes at Bandol more or less.  The most famous city is obviously Saint Tropez. Many beaches are really perfect to plan your wedding party on the French Riviera. Interior and exterior decoration are often very well customised and above all totally trendy. Your wedding in a French designer house

If you feel living a unique wedding party, French Riviera is the perfect place to make your dreams come true. Indeed, French Riviera is full of magnificent venues where to plan an amazing wedding event. French Riviera has been attracting many artists and designers for so long! Some of them bought properties on the French Riviera. Luckily, some of these prestigious properties can be rented to celebrate a wedding party.

So, if you fancy fashion, I suggest two fabulous venues. The first one is the most stupendous property on the French Riviera. The owner is Mr Pierre Cardin, famous French fashion designer. There is no other house on earth like the one he has on the French Riviera. The name of the property is Palais Bulle. The idea is to be in a bubble everywhere in the house. Indeed, there is no corner, no angles …the whole is round in a very 1960’s spirit and attitude. Extremely well situated on the French Riviera, with an unforgettable sea view, the property has a specific area to host events. The place is dedicated to hedonism.

The second venue I recommend for a wedding event on the French Riviera is definitely different from the previous one. The property is one of the most elegant ones on the French Riviera. Continue reading ‘Your wedding in a French designer house’

2008 wedding trends : sample stations

Let’s be honest : sometimes it happens that guests are getting bored at a wedding party. Weddings are often the same with no suprise! Customised wedding decoration makes your wedding different obviously. Anyway, it’s not enough! One new trend in weddings is to set up many sample stations rather than one never ending dinner.

Every station has to be thematic. I suggest to link the keynote to the bride and the groom. For instance, if you get married on the French Riviera, a wine and a cheese station is a must have. Why don’t you hire a sommelier to provide some explanations to your guests ?

As humans, we’re getting bored quickly. So create an event in the event istself. You should set up some fleetingly stations. Based on the happy hour concept, you should do a « mojito time » during 30 min, following by a « champagne time ».

2008 wedding trends : colors

It seems that there are 3 main trends in wedding decoration regarding colors. The big first one deals with silver or grey shades. Basically, grey replaces chocolate as the accent color for a wedding party. Why dont’ you choose a pale-grey wedding dress ? Grey is beyond a doubt an elegant color. Use grey linen for tables, add some silver painted branches and lay down some rhinestones. Tables will look stylish and trendsetter.

The second trend in wedding decoration is a summery color :Yellow is in vogue too ! For a day time wedding, I suggest bright colors and a mix with white and yellow. The tables can be dressed with white linen and sunflowers centerpieces. Wooden chairs or white chairs with yellow tulle are in good taste. If the wedding takes place by night, I recommend lemon and chocolate.

The wedding lubies

I read an interesting post on Forbes that dealt with the lubies of celebrities for their weddings. Oviously it was an economic viewpoint but it drew my attention to the importance of logistics in a wedding. When Madonna got married with Guy Ritchie, she spent $ 2,100,000. $ 293,000 were dedicated to champagne, $ 58,000 to flights and they needed $219,000 to rent the whole castle (and its 47 rooms). The celebrity wedding had a positive impact on the turism since then.

Catherine Zeta Jones was looking for a simply and intimate wedding party. She chose the Plaza in NYC (”down home”) and she spent $ 1,500,000 as the new Mrs Douglas. Her wedding lubies were clear : a choir of 40 members and only 20,000 creeam coloured roses. Continue reading ‘The wedding lubies’

How to do a green wedding?

When you celebrate a wedding on the French Riviera, you’re closed to nature thanks to the varierty of amazing landscapes in this area. So why don’t you celebrate a wedding on the French Riviera with a green commitment ?

Making an earthfriendly wedding party is not a big deal! Here are some ideas to celebrate a green wedding. First, why don’t you use a recycled paper to make your wedding announcements ?  On the whole, we waste so much paper that there is no need to add more with your wedding reception. The best way to be eco-friendly is to send your wedding announcements by email. You shall create a website with all the details about your wedding party (hotels, celebration, transport…)   Continue reading ‘How to do a green wedding?’

Weddings : what do the colors mean ?

When you plan to organise your wedding party, you have very often colors in mind. Our unconscious mind associate colors with events. As far as I’m concerned, white is known to be the most famous color for wedding receptions. Anyway, do we know exactly what colors mean. Through history, dream language, religion and psychology, colors have symbolic meanings.   Let’s have a look to some emblems.

First of all, white means light and divinity. Egyptians used to put white shrouds on their departed relatives. Druids wore white clothes and so on. The wedding dress is white because this color represents purity, chastity and virtue. White flowers like lily or white birds like dove are emblems of peace.

Secondly, red is sometimes used in a wedding decoration because red is linked with the divine love. Red express life, optimism and sex. To a certain extend, red stands for conquest and seduction but also for power. In Peru, soldiers are in red !

What about yellow ? This equivocal color is not easy to define. Continue reading ‘Weddings : what do the colors mean ?’
