Built on the foundations of an old Roman Villa, this imposing winery in the Lubéron crossed the successive revolution to offer you the perfect wedding. Entirely re-established in 1979, he regained all the splendour of its day. Even if several wine guides consecrate its vineyard, we take an interest in its sumptuous gardens above all. Indeed, those gardens have a great part in the magic romanticism that comes out this winery in the Lubéron, and makes of this place a perfect venue to marry.
Voted “Jardins de l’année 2008” and classified « Jardins Remarquables » by the French Culture Ministry, those gardens were pictured by the French landscape gardener Tobbie Loup de Viane, who had the ambition to recreate a 19th century garden: ornamental as well as practical. That’s why the gardens produce many good fruits and vegetables but in the same time, are delights for our eyes.
They dwell on three terraces, each more beautiful than the others. First of all, the vegetable garden, mixing flowers to vegetables. The tomatoes and potatoes are facing the mahonias, surrounded by the lavender stems, those border the rows, for a kitchen-garden in the traditional style! The second terrace welcomes roses and iris, for a subtle gradation of blue.
And Tobbie Loup de Viane lets his imagination go wild with the third terrace where are freely growing ornamental apple trees, jujubier, roses… But your favourite place will probably be the wonderful Long Harbor: so romantic! Planted with roses, the beauty of this place and its captivating perfume seem unreal. A dreamed frame for such a romantic union!
